The GMI safety valve automatically, and without the use of any energy other than that of the fluid concerned, discharges a quantity of fluid in order to prevent any overshoot of a predetermined safety pressure. It is designed to close and stop any further fluid flow after normal pressure operating conditions have been restored. The safety valve thus contributes to the safety of the installation by preventing any accidental pressure rise which would damage certain equipment such as: tanks, pipes, measuring instruments, etc.
